But I think it's thanks to CBN who pulled the consulate to Hyd when they were debating to have the consulate in Hyd or Bangalore. From what I know YSR govt just boomed up the realty prices but nothing else, though realty went up in other parts of the country too.
PS: I'm not very sure if it was CBN who got the consulate to Hyd but just expressed my thoughts as we are talking about consulate/Hyd/how proud we should be etc in this thread. For those who know better or disagree with me please feel free to do so by posting in the thread but not by giving red/accompanying mssgs. These days I'm so cautious that unless absolutely sure I don't take any chances with posting on threads so as to avoid upsetting people even remotely. Felt it's been long since I've been easy on IV threads..so I'm posting on this thread :)
Thank you.

Jaime - my friend - I am in for another rally. What worries me is that, there is still a lack of motivation from the immigrant community. We need atleast 50,000 skilled workers rallying in DC.

Thanks guys,
But I am still not 100% clear. I thought both of them have independent EAD statuses, but applying together is because of maritial status.
Is it not needed for wife's case to be independently handled.
You can have independent status of EAD, but your wife's EAD is based on her 485 and her 485 is based on your 485. If your 485 is denied, your EAD is invalid and you dont have any status. Eventually her 485 will also be denied based on your denial that will make her EAD invalid. Hope this helps! Basic rule! Until the 485 denial of individual application, individual EAD is valid

To present our case, we need facts. Like for example
-Drop in admissions/applications/exams for US universities
http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/senate/news/source/intnl.grads.pdf cites "constraints on visas and immigration" are among the reasons for the decline
http://www.usatoday.com/printedition/news/20060106/a_students06.art.htm says "Rising U.S. tuitions, increased tension between much of the world and the United States and post-9/11-related immigration issues have all fed a decline in foreign student enrollment. So, too, has heightened competition from the rest of the developed world"
http://www.aascu.org/policy_matters/pdf/v2n11.pdf also supports that on page 3
-Number of people on H1-B buying homes
http://www.census.gov/prod/3/98pubs/cenbr974.pdf
-Evidence showing H1-Bs earn similar salaries/hourly rates, as rest of the industry
http://judiciary.senate.gov/testimony.cfm?id=913&wit_id=475
It is hard to determine the impact of H-1B workers on comparable U.S. workers. The only comprehensive effort to date, conducted in 2000 by the National Research Council of the National Academy of Sciences, concluded that the magnitude of any effect the H-1B program has on wages is difficult to estimate with confidence. The report noted that the effect, if any, may not be to depress wages and employment opportunities for U.S. workers but rather to keep wages from rising as rapidly as they would if the program did not exist. Another study in 2001 similarly concluded that if the H-1B program has any effect on comparable U.S. workers, the effect must be subtle because it does not appear immediately in the data.
-Age Pattern of the Science and Engineering Labor Force
http://www.nsf.gov/statistics/seind04/c3/c3s3.htm#c3s3l1a Absent changes in degree production, retirement patterns, or immigration, the number of S&E-trained workers in the labor force will continue to grow for some time, but the growth rate may slow significantly as a dramatically greater proportion of the S&E labor force reaches traditional retirement age. As the growth rate slows, the average age of the S&E labor force will increase.
And later "Taken together, these factors suggest a slower-growing and older S&E labor force. Both trends would be accentuated if either new degree production were to drop or immigration to slow, both concerns raised by a recent report of the Committee on Education and Human Resources Task Force on National Workforce "
I am also trying to gather information about the points given below
- Number of H1-Bs becoming US citizens (when given a chance)
_________
- A $$ amount of value addition of H1-Bs to the US economy
_________
- Number of children that are US citizens from H1-B families.
_________
Any help in pointing to any articles etc that you may have come across is good. Please keep in mind that these studies should have stats in them and should be recent material
Thanks

Hello,
I'm planning to get immigration medical examination done for my wife. We're also planning for pregnancy.
One doctor said we should not try for pregnancy for 4-6 months once she get the shots. He also said he will give a waiver for now for the shots but USCIS will ask for it later. Is that a good idea?
Another doctor said she can do a blood test and determine if she needs the shots.
Any body in the same situation?

If you are still on a H or L and have a valid visa, you can enter using that as well but if you working on an EAD, all yopu will need is the parole document.

Why even this discussion. there are many who no longer work for the sponsor even before getting the GC. What do you think happens if they find out? have you heard of anybody whose GC was affected?
Ok, I know this could be wrong answer... But since we are legal immigrants we need to follow all the laws!!:D

I am still not sure whether my attorney has filed appeal with EB2 or EB3 category. Is it possible. My EB2 was changes to EB3 for I-140 quesry in Oct. 2007.

I think there have been enuf members writing about visa limit being reached for india/china EB-2. I wonder why ppl are still calling each other names when somebody posts something he things others will benefit from. This will defeat the purpose of this forum.

Hi,
I submitted my 485 in julyEven i applied for my wife too.....we both got EAD, AP...She left to India...we have problems and we may seperate each other...So not sure when we get divorce because of outdated Indian marriage laws...Are there going to be any problems when they are adjudicating my 485 application? Her FP done and she got AP until Sep 2008...Now what will happen if USCIS sends out an FP notice for my wife...She won't be doing finger printing...Is it going effect my GC in anyway?
Your case is not simple as it seems. You need to inform USCIS as you have filed I-134 to support her and you will leagally responsible for next 10 years, but in that case you will be away from daughter.
Best to reconcile if that's possible.

thanks for the options.. just surprized that we must go through these procedures (like Quillpad, installing native font etc) to fill a form that is designed for people outside of USA, most with a non-english native language.
whats wrong with an option of 'blank' field and use the good ol' pen :p
thanks for your inputs. really appreciate it.

If you don't know something please keep quiet. Don't spread nonsense rumors. First of all the primary GC applicant is not affected in anyway. Spouse GC will show up anywhere between 7 to 12 months depending upon how the documentation is done.
This might delay your GC for another 2years. Mainly due to security concerns after 9 / 11. Better option is to get your GC and then apply as family. Will take at least 4 to 5 years.

i think you mean I-864
correct me if i'm wrong but we do not need to file this form, read the instructions on this link on who needs to file this form, an EB petitioner is not mentioned anywhere i can find:
http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864.pdf
I-485 instructions are very clear on who needs the I-865 form.
the documentary needs are very simple, in fact, the form is so damn simple i'm wondering why i'm paying sooooo much to my attorney.
NO tax forms are needed per my reading, check for yourself.

Here is my situation:
I was on H-1 B status with my former employer then I changed jobs using AC 21 and I am currently working on EAD with my new employer. I didn't transfer my H-1b from former employer to new employer since I have EAD. I still have H-1b visa stamp on my passport that will not expire until end of 2010. I am planning to go home to visit my family during the summer for 2 weeks. my question is : do i need to apply for travel document to be able to come back or can I just use the H-1B stamp on my passport even tough I am not with my green card sponsoring employer anymore??
Please advise. Thank you in advance.
You can enter with previous company H1 visa, only if you are maitaining that status (H1) with new company. As you are currenty working on EAD with other emplyer, the previous H1B visa has no use. You need AP to enter, as you are in pure AOS.
However, you can enter in H1B visa, only if you are going to work for the previous comapany upon arrival to USA (provided thay have not cancelled the H1, and still they have job offer to you upon arrival). If you do so, your 485 will get abonded, as you travelled without parloe when you are in AOS. If you want to protect 485, you must get AP before leaving. H1B visa will be usefull, only if you maintain H1 status just before leaving US and resumes H1 after arrival.
